Calligraphy dip pen does not work?
Caalligraphy I used to practice when I was younger. I just had the type of cartridges and tape. Today I bought a mango base and fine point. I have a bit of ink from a garage sale. It was fine when I started using it. I have a letter from the twisted and that kind of caught in the paper and nearly cut. Now does not seem to want to work. I tried to bend the tip to be tightened, then looser. What can / should I do?
The pens are made of spring steel. Once unfolded, remain bent. They are made to flex but not bend. Basically, you have ruined the tip I was using. However, replacement tips are not as expensive. Go to an art store and get a couple of new ones and practice. Try a couple of different sizes and shapes to see what kind of effects you can get. Do not forget to get a jar from the pen of cleaning solution while you are there. Clean our nozzles after each use to keep working longer. And keep practicing.
